Schematron is a rules language for XML. The EN-16931, Peppol and XRechnung rules are published as Schematron and are translated into XSLT before execution.
Schematron rules formulate conditions in XPath 2.0 — so the check needs an XSLT 2.0 processor and not a regular XML parser.
Every rule has a code (such as BR-CO-15) and a text. Both appear in the result, so an error can be traced.
